  • Light green: large Chinese-speaking minorities (Ethnic Chinese population in Malaysia (25%) and Brunei (15%))

en:Kyrgyzstan is included for the en:Dungan language minority, en:Vietnam for the significant en:Hoa minority, and the en:Philippines for its Chinese-speaking ethnic Chinese population. Ethnic Chinese populations which do not speak Chinese as a first language are not included.
